TNPSC Onscreen Certificate Verification (OCV) — Complete Guide for Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Candidates (Notification No.08/2025)

  • by

Published / Notified by TNPSC: 05.11.2025. The Commission has published the list of register numbers of candidates provisionally admitted to Onscreen Certificate Verification for Combined Technical Services Examination (Interview Posts) — including the post Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (1695). Candidates must note that OCV will be done based on the documents they already uploaded with their online application.

1. What is Onscreen Certificate Verification (OCV)?

OCV is the online stage where TNPSC verifies the authenticity of the qualifications/claims you made in your application by checking scanned copies of your ORIGINAL documents uploaded through the One-Time Registration (OTR) platform. Inclusion in the OCV list is provisional — final admission to further stages (physical verification / interview) depends on acceptance of claims after verification.

2. Who is affected / why this matters

If your register number appears in the OCV PDF list (link/file attached in the post), you are provisionally admitted to the OCV stage. For VAS this list was released along with other posts. Being on the list does not guarantee you will go to the next stage — your online claims must match originals at the time of verification.

3. Documents you must have (upload and keep originals ready)

Prepare clear scanned copies of the following (the exact set required can vary by notification — this is the common set for most VAS candidates):

SSLC / 10th mark sheet or certificate (usually used for Age / DOB proof).

HSC / 12th mark sheet (if applicable).

Degree certificate (BVSc & AH) and consolidated mark sheets — or provisional degree certificate if final convocation certificate not yet issued.

Registration certificate from Veterinary Council (if required by notification).

Community / Caste certificate (if applying under BC/SC/ST/MBC) — valid and in correct format.

PWD certificate / Ex-Servicemen / Destitute Widow / other special category certificates (if applicable).

Experience certificate (if you claimed experience for posts requiring experience) — original employer letter with dates and designation.

Date of Birth proof — if DOB is not printed in SSLC/HSC, provide birth certificate or other legal DOB proof.

Any other certificates listed in the recruitment notification (e.g., Typewriting / Shorthand / Knowledge of Tamil, etc.).

Always keep the ORIGINALS handy — OCV is based on previously uploaded scans, but later stages may require physical verification of originals.

4. Scanning & file preparation — practical tips

Follow these recommendations to avoid rejection for poor-quality uploads:

File format: PDF preferred for multi-page documents; JPG/PNG acceptable for single pages.

Resolution: 300 dpi is ideal — clear legible text and stamp/signatures visible.

File size: Keep each file ≤ 200–500 KB if the platform restricts size; if TNPSC allows larger, 1–2 MB is fine. Compress without losing legibility.

Orientation: scan in portrait for certificates. Ensure pages are not rotated.

Color vs B&W: Color scans are better (signatures and stamps show clearly), but black & white is acceptable if legible.

Naming convention: use clear file names — e.g., RegNo_0101010001_SSC.pdf, RegNo_Degree.pdf, RegNo_Community.pdf. This helps you track uploads and also helps TNPSC officials.

Combine pages: For multi-page certificates (degree + mark sheets), combine into one PDF in logical order (cover page → certificate → mark sheets).

Check edges & cropping: Ensure no text is cut off.

Keep a copy: Save a local backup and cloud copy (Google Drive/OneDrive) with the same file names.

5. Exact step-by-step procedure to upload on OTR (how to perform OCV upload)

> These steps describe the typical flow on TNPSC’s OTR platform. The UI labels can vary slightly — look for tabs called “One-Time Registration (OTR) / Login”, “Application status”, “Certificate Upload” or “OCV”.

1. Open TNPSC website and click One-Time Registration (OTR).

2. Login with your registered User ID / Email / Mobile number and password or OTP.

3. After login, go to “My Applications” or “Application Status” → find the active application for Notification No.08/2025 – Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (1695).

4. If your register number was provisionally admitted for OCV, there will be a banner/notification or a status link “Upload Certificates — Onscreen Certificate Verification”. Click it.

5. Read the instructions shown on the upload page carefully (allowed formats, size limits, mandatory documents).

6. For each document category (e.g., SSLC, Degree, Community), click “Upload” and select the prepared scan from your device. Follow the required order.

7. Preview each uploaded file — ensure pages open and are legible. If a preview option is available, use it to confirm.

8. Declare / Tick checkboxes — some OTR pages require you to declare that uploaded documents are true copies of originals. Tick the required declarations.

9. Submit the uploads. The portal may show a confirmation message or generate an acknowledgement slip / reference number. Save or screenshot the confirmation for your records.

10. Logout and keep checking your registered mobile / email for SMS or email intimation from TNPSC.

6. What TNPSC checks in OCV

TNPSC will screen uploaded documents to verify the claims you made in your online application. The main checks include:

Educational qualification & mark sheets match the declared degree/percentage.

Age (DOB) matches the proof provided.

Community certificate matches the category claimed.

Experience certificates are valid, dated and signed by the proper authority.

Registration in Veterinary Council (if claimed) is valid and current.

Special category certificates (PWD/Ex-Serviceman) are in the proper format.

If any claim is found false, the application will be rejected and provisional admission cancelled.

7. After upload — what happens next

TNPSC will screen the uploaded documents electronically.

If the uploaded documents are sufficient and match the claims, your candidature will remain provisionally admitted.

TNPSC will later publish a list of candidates eligible for Physical Certificate Verification & Interview (ratio 1:2 / 1:3 as mentioned in the notification).

Physical Certificate Verification (if called) requires you to bring ORIGINAL documents to the venue and time specified. Failing to present originals will lead to rejection.

Final selection and interview dates will be intimated through TNPSC official channels (website, SMS, email, Telegram/WhatsApp channel, X account).

8. Deadlines & consequences

Strict deadlines: You must upload within the stipulated timeframe. Missing the deadline = candidature rejection.

No individual postal communication: TNPSC does not send individual letters by post. All notices will appear on the official website and via registered SMS/email.

Incorrect contact details: If your mobile number or email is wrong, TNPSC will not be responsible for missed communication — keep your OTR contact details up to date.

10. Common FAQs & troubleshooting

Q. My register number appears in the published PDF — do I still need to upload documents?
A. The OCV for many candidates will be based on documents already uploaded with the online application. If the portal asks for additional uploads/updates, do them within the deadline. Regardless, confirm your register number and watch for specific instructions on the OTR page and SMS/email from TNPSC.

Q. What if I made a mistake in an uploaded document earlier?
A. If the portal allows re-upload before the OCV deadline, replace with corrected files. If not, follow TNPSC instructions or contact the Helpdesk (if provided). Maintain proof of attempts (screenshots).

Q. My community certificate is old / different format — will it be accepted?
A. Use the latest valid certificate issued by the competent authority. If format is non-standard, attach a scanned copy of any official gazette/format guidelines you may have, but TNPSC may ask for re-submission or clarification.

Q. I don’t have the original degree certificate yet — only provisional.
A. Upload the provisional degree certificate and consolidated mark sheets. Keep the original provisional certificate for physical verification; TNPSC accepts provisional certificates if notified in the recruitment rules.

Q. Who do I contact for portal problems?
A. Check the TNPSC website’s contact/helpdesk section. Keep screenshots of errors and time of occurrence.

11. Practical tips to avoid rejection

Double-check that name spelling, DOB, and register number are consistent across all documents.

If you use an abbreviated name in some documents, keep supporting ID proof or explanation ready.

Keep a digital and physical copy of every uploaded file.

Take time to preview uploaded files in the portal — a blurred scan is equivalent to non-uploaded.

Do not upload forged or altered documents — consequences are severe including disqualification and legal action.

12. What to watch for after OCV

Publication of the eligible list for Physical Certificate Verification & Interview (TNPSC will state ratio and process).

Interview schedule and venue details — carry originals and any additional forms specified.

Any corrigendum or court-cases listed in the notification that may affect final admission (the notification notes certain writs/WAs are sub-judice and final admission is subject to court orders).

13. Sample closing note for your blog post

> Candidates whose register numbers are included in the TNPSC OCV list (Notification No.08/2025) for Veterinary Assistant Surgeon should immediately verify their OTR application status, confirm uploaded document quality, and re-upload corrected scans if the portal permits — strictly within the deadline. Keep originals ready for physical verification and monitor official TNPSC channels for further instructions. The inclusion in the published list is provisional and final selection is subject to document acceptance and subsequent stages.
